Prof. Zhang Naigen Attends International Conferences
Prof. Zhang Naigen, the Director for the Centre of Intellectual Property of Fudan University, attended upon invitation the First IP & Innovation Researchers of Asia Conference, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 31 January- 1 February 2019. Prof. Zhang gave a presentation titled “‘Belt & Road’ -Related IRP Customs Enforcement: China-EAEU, China-EU Cooperation” during a session on the first day of the Conference.
The conference was co-organized by the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and was hosted by the International Islamic University Malaysia. It attracted about 200 attendees, gathering scholars from all over Asia as well as distinguished guest experts from all over the world.
From 11 February to 15 February 2019, Prof. Zhang also attended upon invitation the Global Trade Academy: Legal Foundations and New Directions of the Global Trading System held at Georgetown University Law Center to follow the latest views of U.S. and European scholars on WTO and its legal system. The Academy was founded in 2006 by the late Prof. John Jackson, a major figure in WTO law. It was the second time that Prof. Zhang had attended the Academy, the last time being in the same year of its establishment, when he was studying trade-related intellectual property as Fulbright Research Scholar of Georgetown Law Center.
