Fudan University Team Received Third Prize in FDI Moot Shenzhen Competition

From October 16th to 18th, 2020, the first investment arbitration "Shenzhen Cup" Mock Arbitration Tribunal Debate Competition (FDI MOOT SHENZHEN) was held at the headquarters of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration. The Fudan Delegation was led by Professor LU Zhian and comprised of six graduate students, MIN Weiruoyan, SHI Shixu, JIANG Yinhong, REN Jiaxuan, WANG Junjie, and ZHANG Zhichun. They performed well and won the third prize of the competition.

The investment arbitration "Shenzhen Cup" mock arbitration tribunal debate (FDI MOOT SHENZHEN) is the first Chinese foreign investment law moot competition that adopts the form of the FDI MOOT international mock investment arbitration contest. It was sponsored by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and co-organized by the well-known domestic law firm Jincheng Tongda Law Firm. There were 34 high-level experts and scholars of foreign investment arbitration from 8 countries serving as judges of the competition. More than 200 students from 30 teams of Chinese law schools were attracted to participate.

Fudan University Law School has been encouraging students to participate in well-known moot court competitions both domestically and internationally, with the purpose of helping students to form a solid foundation of legal knowledge and practice the skills in legal research and application. To support students’ participation in moot competitions, Fudan Law School has formulated tailored regulations and provided facilitating resources. There are many students having won individual and group awards. They have elevated their legal capacities and broadened the international perspectives.
