1. Conference background
Fudan-Konstanz Joint Legal Seminar (Gemeinschaftliches juristisches Seminar der Universität Konstanz und der Universität Fudan) is the international academic project which is stipulated by the Memorandum of Understanding between Fudan University and Konstanz University. During the last decade, the joint seminar was successfully held in 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014 at Fudan University (China) and in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2016 at Konstanz University(Germany).

With the goal of establishing a research platform on which Sino-German academic exchange is mainly conducted by law graduate students from both universities, the joint seminar also invites legal experts and scholars from German and Chinese universities to participate. This form of academic exchange is of great help for Chinese young scholars to learn about the cutting-edge legal research of German law, and meanwhile it also provide good opportunities for German scholars to have deeper understanding of the Chinese legal system. Moreover, it is firmly believed that the Joint Seminar provides good opportunities across the Euro-Asian continent to strengthen the future cooperative ties between China and Germany.
